Talking 101: How to Talk so Kids Will Listen

The Garden Road School is delighted to present Joanna Faber, who will be doing parenting workshops based on the bestseller, How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk by award-winning authors Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish.

Sibling sniping, bedtime battles, supermarket meltdowns, homework hassles.… are we having fun yet?

It’s tough out there for a parent!

Do you try to avoid threats, bribes, and punishments, but find yourself using them anyway, just to survive the day?

In the 7-session HOW TO TALK SO KIDS WILL LISTEN workshop, led by Joanna Faber, participants will learn how to:

  • cope with their children’s strong emotions
  • set limits while maintaining good will,
  • practice strategies to engage cooperation,
  • resolve conflicts creatively
  • explore alternatives to punishment.

Come learn practical methods to improve communication and discipline and to enhance your relationships at home.

  • Afternoon workshops will begin Wednesday, March 2nd 12:30pm – 2:30pm
  • Evening workshops will begin Monday, February 28th 8pm - 10pm
