The Garden Road School

The Garden Road School Annual Appeal 2009

Dear Friends and Supporters of The Garden Road School,

We know you care deeply about education and understand the importance of the kind of innovative programs that happen at The Garden Road School. We are appealing to you now to help keep these programs alive.

Being a small school has its benefits. Children get the individualized attention they need in a warm, family-like atmosphere. Our outstanding academic curriculum is taught organically and is not dictated by standardized testing, so our students love to learn. And the creativity that flows in such an environment is awe-inspiring. See for yourself in our video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHuatPXsmVY.

But being a small school also has its drawbacks. When big things happen like an economic crisis, we all feel it. And let me tell you, at The Garden Road School, we are really feelin' it.

So we ask you, our friends, families and supporters, to give the best gift you can give this holiday season: the gift of hope, of continuance, of making miracles happen.

Donate to our school and help us change the world, one child at a time.

We ask you to give as generously as your means allow and we thank you for your continued support.

With inspiration towards the future,

Donna Mikkelsen, Director

"I wish there had been a Garden Road School for my own kids. The whole place is a tribute to the energy, inspiration, and intelligence of its founders and staff. If we ever get the educational changes as a nation that we so desperately need, it will come from quiet little 'can do' places like the Garden Road, not from Harvard or Washington. I heartily endorse this school."
